Don’t throw your 10c containers away – recycle them to raise funds for MADEC and reduce landfill. All proceeds from container returns will support our activities and experiences for young people and persons with a disability.
Did you know Queenslanders go through around 3 billion drink containers each year? Containers for Change is an initiative that allows you to recycle eligible containers and receive 10c for each one. You can choose to either take this refund for yourself or donate it to MADEC and support our work with at-risk youth and people with disabilities. Supporting us is as simple as 1, 2, 3!
Collect eligible containers
Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible.
Eligible containers will display a refund mark (e.g.“10c refund at collection depots/points…”) with the exception of wine and pure spirit bottles.
Take them to a container refund point
Visit the ReturnIt Paget Depot: 187 Archibald St, Paget QLD 4740.
Earn a refund or donate
You’ll receive 10 cents for every eligible container you return which you can keep (and place your receipt in the MADEC letterbox at the depot to contribute to our tally — on reaching 250,000 containers we receive $5,000) or donate by scanning the QR code below. You can also donate by using our charity member number C11245697.
Calling all Businesses: Support MADEC with Containers for Change
If you’re a business you can also fundraise for us with your recycled containers!
This can involve a dedicated bin supplied and based on your premises that is emptied regularly by arrangement. Alternatively, you can recycle your containers at the ReturnIt Paget depot, quoting our charity number C11245697 or using the QR code above.
