MADEC provides a variety of disability supports funded by the NDIS.
These supports include:
· Supported Independent Living
· Accommodation Services
· Community Participation
· Support Coordination
· Plan Management Services
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is when NDIS participants receive support, usually 24/7, to assist them to develop skills so that they can live as independently as possible.
This can sometimes be a group of people sharing a home together, or one person receiving support in their own home.
Within the SIL arrangement, your support team will assist you to do the following:
· Personal Care
· Household Tasks
· Using Public Transport
· Accessing Social Activities
· Building other Life Skills
To assist you in arranging a SIL, we can provide you with the needed support to:
· Secure suitable accommodation – MADEC can provide transitional housing at affordable rates.
· Find compatible housemates – MADEC can arrange meet and greets, as well as trial stays in our respite houses to ensure that you and your potential housemates are a good match.
· Plan the transition to SIL – for some individuals it may be a 12-month pathway, so start the conversation today.
Supported Independent Living is an exciting arrangement that will benefit you. Become independent, make new friends, have choice and control, feel safe and secure, enjoy freedom and exciting opportunities and be confident that you have the support you need, when you need it! Start the conversation with MADEC and begin the transition to your new SIL today!
