Mackay and District Youth Crime Prevention Service
MADEC auspice funding the Department of Communities for the Mackay and District Youth Crime Prevention Service (MDYCPS). The MDYCPS will engage with young people who are already offending, or at risk of offending behaviour, their communities and service providers to facilitate the provision of high quality juvenile crime prevention and youth justice strategies.
Projects
- Projects will be funded through MDYCPS that show innovative approaches to:
- Reduction in young people offending
- Reduction of over-representation of Indigenous young people in the youth justice system
- Addressing the criminogenic needs of young people
- Demonstrating sustainable exit strategies
- Demonstrating that the needs of the target group are met and that young people have been involved in the development of the project or have been consulted around the project
- Measuring the number of young people who neither re-offend or progress further within the statutory system
Application Kits
Funding is available for organisations to support the development of innovative and effective strategies to reduce the incidence of youth offending in Queensland. If you feel that your organisation has a project that can assist young people to play positive and responsible roles in their communities and which will develop responses to local crime problems involving young people, please request and application kit from MADEC .
